Section Five Boys Soccer

POW Sept 17th –Sept 23rd

 

Allegany

Division 1 - Fillmore sophomore scoring sensation Matt Rocca made his mark last week in Allegany County soccer by recording the hat trick against previously undefeated G-V and lead his Eagles to a 6-1 overall record.  This hard-working two-way player is on his way to becoming one of the best over-all players in Section V.

Division 2- Scio senior Chris Bridge scored 3 goals in two games last week, the last being the winner against previously undefeated Belfast to propel the Tigers to the top of Section V D/DD's as the only undefeated team, 6-0-1.

 

City/Catholic

Wilson Wildcats sophomore forward Abdu Nyangos had two goals and one assist in a 4-3 win over East High and a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory against East Irondequiot.

 

Buddha Magar, a junior from East High for scored  4 goals  and 3 assist in his first 2 games.

           

Finger Lakes

Senior midfielder Eric Johnson of Penn Yan scored 3 goals in two league contests this week and is tied for top goal scorer in the Finger Lakes League with 7 goals on the season.

 

Senior Midfielder Sean Anderson of Mynderse had a stellar week with a goal and an assist in his team's two league wins against HAC and Newark, including the winning goal in overtime of the second game. 

 

Genesee

Kendall Senior, Zach Stedman scored 3 goals in a 4-1 win versus Attica last week, giving Kendall its first league victory.

 

Livingston

Division I - Jimmy Dagon - Hornell - Senior goalie - Jimmy recorded 2 shutouts this past week.  His first was against Dansville and the second was a 1-0 win over Bath. He now has 4 shutouts for the season.

 

Division II  - Dylan Bush - Perry - Junior forward - Dylan had 2 goals and 2 assists in Perry's win at Warsaw

 

Division III - Max Borgus - Keshequa - Senior goalie - Max had 2 shutouts in 3 wins this week allowing only 1 goal.  Max was credited with 18 saves in the three wins including 7 saves in a 3-0 win over Geneseo


Monroe

Division 1 - Alex Kaser - Victor. Senior goalie - Alex had 14 saves in shutout win over Fairport.  He followed that up with 10 saves in shutout win over Brockport. 

Division – 2 - Stephen Betteridge - Pittsford Mendon senior defender - Stephen tallied a point in each of the Vikings 3 victories helping to lead the team to a 9-0 start to the season. 

Division 3 - Alex Siracusa - Churchville sophomore forward - Alex scored his first varsity goal helping Churchville to a win over Brockport. 

Division 4 - Jamie Magone - Greece Odyssey Junior goalie - Jamie recorded 3 wins including shutouts against Wilson and Bishop Kearney to give him 4 shutouts on the year. 

 

Private/Parochial

Lima Christian, Ethan Domina, Sophomore, Midfielder. Ethan has helped the team to a 4-4 record by scoring 8 goals and two assists.

 

Steuben

Division 1 - Markus Ernest, a senior attacker was instrumental this week in all three of Alfred Almond's Steuben County League wins. He also scored two goals to lead AA to the narrow 3-2 win at Addison

 

Division 2 - Sean McClain, a senior captain from Prattsburgh, led the team to two wins this week as he scored 3 goals and had 3 assists.

 

Wayne

Jon Jones -  The junior midfielder from North Rose Wolcott had 2 goals and 1 assist in last week’s play against East Rochester and Wayne
