Section Five Boys Soccer

POW Sept24th –Sept 30th

 

Allegany

Division 1:  Leading the league with a goals against average of .52 is Fillmore junior Jordan Crouch.  He has only allowed 4 goals in 9 games and has posted 4 straight shutouts, including 1-0 shutout wins last week against Belfast and Whitesville to lead the Eagles to an 8-1 record.

Division 2:  Anchoring the undefeated Scio Tigers is another junior keeper standout Devon Green.  Allowing only 5 goals in 8 games, he has registered a goals against percentage of .63 in leading his team to a 7-0-1 record.

 

City/Catholic

Wilson senior goalie Barizaa Worwor, with a .336 goals against average through six games, led the Wildcats to two shutout victories this week.  Baraizaa made ten saves in a 5-0 win over Jefferson-Franklin and six saves in a

5-0 win against Monroe-Edison.

           

Finger Lakes

Junior midfielder Nathaniel Lindley of Marcus Whitman scored five goals in his team's three games.

Senior midfielder Adrian Black from Naples had three goals and three assists in his first week back since an early season injury.

 

Genesee

Wheatland-Chili Jr central defender Alex Lund anchored a defense that has allowed only 1 goal in last 4 games and 5 goals all season. He has been outstanding in shutting down the opponents forwards.

 

Livingston

Division I - Cody Cronmiller - Livonia - Junior midfielder - Cody had 3 goals and 4 assists in 3 games and all 3 goals were game winners.

 

Division II - Matt Sancilio - Avon - Senior midfielder - On Monday, Matt played defense against a vaunted Livonia attack and we held them to 2 goals in double overtime.  Next game, he was back at midfield and had a goal and an assist against York.  Finally, against Mt. Morris, he played defense against their great striker tandem and led the way as we shut them out 2-0 with a back up goalie. 

 

Division III - Bryan Rollins - Geneseo - Junior midfielder - Bryan had 3 goals and 2 assists and controlled the midfield in 3 wins for Geneseo this week over Mt. Morris, Cal-Mum and Penn Yan. 


Monroe

Division 1 - Matt Buckley - Junior/ Defender/ Webster Thomas - Matt anchored the Thomas defense that has only allowed 1 goal in the last 3 games including a shutout win over Fairport.

Division 2 - Alban Zohn - Senior/ Forward/ Brighton  - Alban had 3 goals and 3 assists in wins over Wayne and Canadaqua

Division 3 - Jon Clark - Senior/Goalie/Greece Athena - Jon made 11 saves for the shutout in a tie game vs. Webster Schroeder.  It was his 5th shutout of the season.

Division 4 - Isaiah Manetta - Sophomore/Forward/Greece Arcadia - Isaiah had 4 goals in three games including the game winning goals in overtime in wins over Hilton and Greece Odyssey. 

 

Private/Parochial

 

Steuben

Division 1: Alfred Almond Senior Captain, Chris Cook led the Eagles back from a 2-0 halftime deficit to beat Genesee Valley 3-2, scoring one goal and assisting on both of the other goals.

Division 2: Arkport Senior Brian Markel led the Blue Jays to 2 wins last week with 3 goals and 2 assists bringing his season totals to 12 goals and 5 assists.

Wayne

Rufuss Hall- Senior Attacker from Williamson had 2 goals and 2 assists in last week’s play.
